The Role

We’re looking for an entrepreneurial Sales and Marketing Director to take on a brand-new role at Elegant Resorts. This is a unique opportunity to make your mark by uniting our sales and marketing teams, driving collaboration, providing the best-in-class service, and delivering on ambitious commercial goals.

You’ll be a proactive, energetic leader with a proven track record of achieving sales targets and executing focused sales and marketing plans with precision. You’ll also bring a strong vision for growth, a passion for luxury travel, and a commitment to fostering innovation, sustainability, and excellence in everything we do.

This senior leadership role requires strategic expertise, a collaborative mindset, and the confidence to work closely with the board and senior stakeholders. It’s an exciting chance to shape the future of our brand and play a key role in scaling the business while maintaining our trusted reputation for exceptional client experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership:

·       Develop and lead a cohesive, end-to-end sales and marketing strategy aligned with commercial objectives and evolving client expectations.

·       Champion a culture of collaboration, ensuring seamless integration and alignment between sales and marketing teams.

·       Provide thought leadership and influence at board meetings, confidently managing upwards and laterally to drive strategic priorities.

·       Advocate for sustainable and ethical practices across all sales and marketing initiatives, reflecting the values of today’s luxury traveller.

·       Demonstrate luxury market awareness, tailoring strategies to resonate with a diverse yet highly set of targeted audiences.

Sales Leadership:

·       Create and implement a CRM strategy to achieve and exceed revenue targets while fostering long-term client relationships.

·       Build and manage a high-performing sales team, cultivating a culture of accountability and excellence.

·       Identify and nurture high-value relationships within the database, focusing on ultra-personalised engagement and loyalty.

·       Continuously analyse market trends and client behaviour to refine sales tactics and offerings, staying ahead of industry changes.

 

360-Degree Marketing Strategy:

·       Build a marketing vision that integrates PPC, digital, SEO, print, social media, and events to enhance brand presence and client engagement.

·       Develop and implement strategies to optimize the website as a high-quality lead-generation tool while reflecting the company’s brand and aspirations.

·       Drive brand management, ensuring every touchpoint aligns with the expectations of the luxury segment.

·       Collaborate closely with product, technology, and operations teams to align marketing strategies with client needs and travel trends.

Data and Technology:

·       Own the integration and optimisation of CRM systems to connect sales, marketing, and customer retention strategies.

·       Monitor customer journeys, creating personalised engagement strategies that inspire loyalty and drive long-term value.

·       Analyse and interpret sales and marketing data to make informed, agile decisions and identify opportunities for growth.

·       Explore and adopt innovative tools and technologies, such as AI and automation, to enhance customer insights and engagement.

·       Foster a trading mentality, encouraging quick and effective actions based on data insights and market signals.

Team and Culture Building:

·       Instil a shared vision and aligned goals across sales and marketing, creating a sense of unity and purpose.

·       Empower team members through coaching, development, and clear performance metrics.

·       Promote a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

·       Act as a cultural leader, embedding trust, excellence, and shared success across the organisation.

Agility and Resilience:

·       Pivot strategies quickly and effectively in response to market changes, client feedback, or industry challenges.

·       Ensure the business remains adaptable and resilient in a dynamic travel landscape.

Analytics & Reporting:

·       Monitor KPIs across sales and marketing, presenting actionable insights and strategies to stakeholders daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly.

·       Define and achieve measurable success metrics, including increased lead conversion, improved customer retention, and exceeding revenue targets.

·       Ensure a measurable ROI for all marketing investments and sales initiatives, refining strategies based on data performance.

Job requirements

Skills and Experience:

·       Proven track record in sales and marketing leadership, ideally within luxury travel, hospitality, or a related sector.

·       Exceptional leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to foster collaboration and drive shared success.

·       Strong commercial acumen with hands-on experience in CRM systems, data analytics, and lifecycle management.

·       Confidence in working at board level, with the ability to manage upwards and influence across departments.

·       Expertise in digital marketing, sales enablement tools, and multi-channel strategies.

·       A passion for travel, innovation, and delivering unparalleled client experiences.

·       Awareness of sustainability and ethical practices, with a desire to integrate them into commercial strategies.
