Role Purpose

This role will formulate and lead the strategy and development of the Luxury Sports Travel Business Unit. Working closely with Destination Sports to identify and pursue new commercial opportunities and channels for growth that make the ER Sports Travel business the best in class in the industry.

Accountabilities
  • Create a new business from scratch, utilising existing Elegant Resorts clients and the unique opportunities presented by the Destination Sport Group.
  • Build your own Sales, Operations and Marketing team
  • Sole responsibility for the P&L for the Business Unit - overseeing all operations including strategic planning, business development, financial planning.
  • Formulate and drive the strategy working together with the senior management team and Destination Sport to deliver the overall business plan.
  • Understanding and communicating the units brand position, value propositions and processes through proposals and presentations.
  • Research, build and develop key prospect customer relationships and identify key decision makers.
  • Review and analyse sales performance against target to determine effectiveness of strategies.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders, including industry partners and customers.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to recommend sales strategies and initiatives.
  • Manage contract process including negotiation and agreement to the satisfaction of all parties.
  • Provide advice on any risks or issues that may have an adverse impact on business activities.
  • Anticipate and react to major advancements to ensure the companies leadership in the competitive landscape.
  • Monitor operating budgets to ensure that all financial targets are met.
  • Form robust relationships with managers and colleagues and gain their respect and confidence, in order to influence decision making.
  • Active contributor at meetings providing guidance and support, constructively challenging and demonstrating support for business objective
  • Manage individual and team performance and conduct appraisals and 121s setting clear objectives and action plans.
  • Encourage a customer focused working environment with clear responsibilities and expectations for team members.
  • Support, coach and develop members of the team to demonstrate efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Staff engagement levels monitored, maintained and survey feedback actioned


Job requirements

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role, ideally within Sports or the luxury Travel industry
  • Proven track record of driving business growth and achieving results.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement successful business strategies.
  • Excellent communication and networking skills, capable of representing the company at various levels.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong financial acumen and ability to analyze data to inform decision-making.
